Inspired by my relationship with my father and the emotional and psychological rollercoaster of our relationship as a young, gay black man navigating through this world, Memory Study II uses my memories to access my subconscious and my father's boots as a physical container/conduit to explore the shifts of our relationship and how that has shifted me into adulthood.
My continued research into memory, the subconscious and its intersection with the body, performance and experience extends and continues to grow from my work with Johnnie Cruise Mercer/ TheRedProjectNYC and its psychoanalytical investigation of the subconscious.
Let me know if you need anything else.
